Usually when you see complex animations, buttons, and menus on a web page, it's Flash.

Pros

• More creative possibilites.
• Interactivity
• Flash animations on your pages are generally smaller file sizes than animated .gif files. Smaller file size = faster load time = happy visitors.

Cons

• Not every visitor to your site will have the Macromedia Flash Viewer installed on their computer (though the flash viewer is a free program).
• Depending on what you want, some flash presentations can take a while to develop.
